- Passing in Buffalo/New England game - Unbelievable passes and catches on both sides of this game. I have to say that it was one of the greatest I've seen. Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was 22-39 for 350 yards. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was 22-36 for 340 yards. Difference in the game? Fitzpatrick threw four interceptions.
- Jets - Sucks to be the first team this year to be shut-out. ""Here's the recipe for getting your ass kicked, all right: 2 for 13 on third down. That's 15 percent. Four turnovers. A blocked punt when they rush one guy and giving up 245 yards rushing. How's that for a recipe?" said coach Rex Ryan at his post game conference.
- Santonio Holmes - He caught a pass, turned and ran, and then suddenly fell down on the field. Apparently forgetting he was in a football game, he casually tossed the football over his shoulder. It was still a live ball and the 49ers defense recovered the ball and ran into the end zone for a touchdown. Holmes was supposedly injured and had to be carted off the field. Yeah, I would be injured too if I just made that rookie mistake.
- Replacement Refs - They were gone, replaced with the welcoming sight of the NFL regular refs. Who knew we would be saying that, huh? The best tweet I read after MNF's debacle was one saying that somewhere NFL referee Ed Hochuli was lifting weights and smiling.
- Minnesota Vikings - Who saw this one coming this year? They certainly proved their win last week against the 49ers was no fluke this week beating the Lions.
- Interceptions - This was the name of the game this week as Chiefs QB Matt Cassel and Seattle's QB Russell Wilson gave up three picks each, the Bills QB (mentioned earlier) gave up four, Matt Hasselbeck QB of the Titans gave up two, and this was only in the early games.
- Rams - They faked an extra point and instead threw the ball into the corner of the end zone where a receiver stood alone, and I stress all alone, for the touchdown. Yeah, tell me why this doesn't happen more often? Especially say in overtime?
- Redskins players injured - This one is for the record books. Aldrick Robinson and Brandon Meriweather were warming up before their game against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Receiver Robinson was standing in the end zone with his head down when safety Meriweather came running, his face looking in the opposite direction as he tried to catch a pass. Boom! They both collided and ended up sitting out of the game due to injuries. Oh my.
- James Jones catch - Less than two minutes left in the game on third and three, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers threw a pass to receiver James Jones who was being manhandled by a New Orleans defender. While it was clearly pass interference, and that was called by the referee, Jones somehow caught the ball down low as it skimmed the hip of the defender. Either that or Aaron Rogers knew exactly where to throw it. Unbelievable catch and the one that sealed the Packers win.
- Ryder Cup - I watched the match on Saturday with my retired golfer mother. I received hourly Tweets from my PGA brother who attended the match. I switched back and forth from the Packers game and the Ryder Cup yesterday. I wish I hadnt put that much effort into it as thr Americans choked and kept the cup in Europe's hands. Jeez.
- Rory McEllroy - He almost missed his match because he payed more attention to the Golf Channel instead of paying attention to his surroundings. McEllroy listened to the Golf Channel's 12:25 eastern time zone tee time. Trouble with that was the state of Illinois, where the tournament was being played, is on central time zone meaning the correct tee time was an hour earlier. McEllroy did get to the match with eleven minutes to spare.

Monday sports recap - Week #4
The Steelers had a bye week and the Buccaneers were blacked out. I was hoping for the Atlanta game, but ended up with one farther north in the Buffalo/New England game. It turned out to be an interesting game in the first half until the Patriots ran away with it capitalizing on Buffalo mistakes.
