Weekend Photos

Our Saturday night dinner party with the pool gang. We used to get together three or four times a year, but it has dwindled to only seeing one another at funerals. We decided to put a stop to that. What better way than to usher in my new dining room?

Sunday afternoon, we attended Darcy's end-of-the-year soccer party. She received her player's medal, and there was tons of food at the home of one of the parents. And tons of desserts...Darcy's favorite thing!

Sunday, we attended another dinner party. This one celebrated the eleventh birthday of Darcy's friend Savanna. I finagled us an invite, and we ate hamburgers on the grill, and I brought my famous Caesar salad.

Instead of cake, we enjoyed cupcakes and Ben and Jerry ice cream.

A very full weekend full of food, food, and more food.

Weekend Memories

  • She took the noodles, some rings, the raft and she built a boat.

  • The contest involved a plate full of whipped topping from a can and she was in heaven when the contest leader told the group they were to devour it.

  • The game went into extra innings, the concert ended late, the walk to the car was long and she fell asleep in the backseat, her head up against the camera bag.
  • She talks slowly because her mouth is full of new metal, poking and prodding the inside of her virgin cheeks, and she doesn't complain, but her face tells the story.
  • They went with leaden feet, but when they saw their school chums and even their teachers they smiled and suddenly the new school year didn't seem so bad.
