This summer Darcy chose to attend a Synchronized Swimming Camp right down the street from our house. She got interested in the sport last year while on the swim team. Swimming her laps next to the 17 feet deep well she got to watch the synchronized swimmers working their routines. She thought about trying out, but circumstances prevented that until this summer camp became available.
She went each morning until late afternoon learning methods and routines. The last day of the camp the girls got to put up their hair in "synchro hair" which consisted of a bun, a decoration, and tons of wet gelatin to keep it all in place. Each girl got to demonstrate something a synchro move and then they performed their routines.
Below is Darcy's group. She is the one in the middle in the pink bathing suit. The movie is a tad wobbly and at one point she is off the screen entirely as I was watching her over the camera. Still you get to see how wonderful she was!
