2018 NFL picks week 6

Last week - 12-3
Overall - 51-26

Philadelphia over Giants - Who is going the opposite? Please. Not even Odell Beckham Jr. is picking his own squad.

Atlanta over Tampa Bay - Our local sports writer is predicting a big game from Jameis Winston, and while that might happen today, I'm thinking Matt Ryan will have a bigger one.

Pittsburgh over Cincinnati - Not really feeling that good about my boys against a hot Bengals team on the road. These games are passionate, angry, and too volatile for my likening. I'm taping it as I'm still at my retreat, so I won't have to live through the angst. If last week' Steelers team shows up, especially the defense, then we have a good shot, but if they show up with attitudes and rack up penalties, we won't even be watchable.

Chargers over Cleveland - Yes, the Browns are trying, and yes, their newbie quarterback will eventually lead them to some wins, but I just didn't think this is the week.

Seattle over Oakland - Seattle's defense and a Russell Wilson offense shouldn't have trouble against a 1-5 Raiders team that can't find a groove under guru, John Gruden

Chicago over Miami - This good be a toss-up game, but I like what I've seen from the Bears. The Dolphins are still trying to define themselves and maybe playing without quarterback Ryan Tannehill today.

Minnesota over Arizona - There are many teams with mediocre records like the Vikings, so the hunt is wide open at this point. The Vikings shouldn't have a problem against a 1-4 Cardinals team, although, like many of the other 2-2 teams, it's a toss-up to which one will show up on the field.

Jets over Indianapolis - I think this is the game that could go either way despite the Colts 1-4 record. They've made bad calls and haven't quite managed to synch, but I think they'll put it together before they have to count the season over. The Jets, on the other hand, started out hot, dropped out of the race for a few weeks, and may or may not have found their mojo last week. This is my coin toss game.

Carolina over Washington - Washington, who?

Houston over Buffalo - Not sure that the Bills' offense has enough gas to last against the Texans defense.

Rams over Denver - Denver is another team that hasn't found its identity, and if they're going to stay in the division hunt today's home game would be an excellent time to turn on the heat. Unfortunately, they're playing against an undefeated Rams team that has the defense and offense straightened out.

Jacksonville over Dallas - I had to look up the Cowboys' record. That's how unexciting I've found them to be thus far. Now, despite playing in their multi-billion dollar stadium today, they're up against Jacksonville's high ranking defense. Don't see any excitement in that for the Cowboys, although Jason Garrett's job might just be on the line if they don't start producing.

Baltimore over Tennessee - The Ravens shouldn't have any problems today.

Kansas City over New England - Finally, a great Sunday night game! Excited to see these two teams duke it out tonight. This will define the Chiefs tonight if they can charge past a Tom Brady who still seems to find ways to win with a beat-up and restructured offense.

Green Bay over San Francisco - And, a Monday night game that sounds like a snooze-fest. The Packers are hurting, but they're playing at home on MNF against a hurting 49ers team with a still-establishing-himself quarterback.
