Christmas 2020

It was vastly different from previous years, but Christmas 2020 was a good one. Without anywhere to rush, we took our time in opening gifts. By devising a menu that required little cooking, we weren't in the kitchen all day. The weather was chilly, the mimosas flowed, and we had a delightful, relaxed, and laid-back holiday. Grandma Mary Anne spent the day with us, a treat, and Santa knew this, leaving Grey Goose in her stocking.

Alcohol was a theme for this year, especially for Grandma, Darcy, and Oleg. There were cocktail shakers and glasses, a bartending Swiss Army tool, muddlers, olives for martinis, and Kahlua coffee. We unwrapped clothes, scarves, slippers, and shoes. There were a few electronic gadgets and several books. We filled two trash bags with discarded wrapping paper and recycled an entire bin of Amazon boxes.

Grandma brought her famous caramel rolls, I made the crockpot breakfast casserole and peppermint coffee, and of course, we had the charcuterie board later in the day to keep our bellies quiet before dinner. We Zoomed with the Boos family and opened our Secret Santa gifts, and Facetimed with the Mason family. Dinner was simple but delicious, and afterward, we had coffee and watched Wonder Woman 1984.

A satisfactory Christmas for sure! Merry, merry to you and yours!
