Steelers: Didn't see the game, but listened to it on the radio and kept abreast with Yahoo's Game Channel.
- My boy CAN NOT be kept down. Troy's first interception was the bomb. He came out of no where to take that Carson Palmer pass all the way to the endzone!
- Hines Ward made key catches today. Nice to see him back in the action. Had to appear as Heath Miller was on the sidelines out of uniform because of his concussion last week.
- The defense is making the plays, now the offense has got to score more than 3 points after great drives. Seems like we can't convert in the redzone, and Big Ben can't throw passes into the receivers' hands unless we are behind. Got to get it all together in the next three weeks.
Other:
- Auburn's Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy despite being under investigation with the NCAA and the FBI for his father allegedly requesting cash in exchange for signing to play for Mississippi State. Not sure I agree that he should have even been on the form because of the investigation, but it is a tough call. Did he know what his father was up to? Was he a part of it? Time will tell, but I hope it doesn't end up like Reggie's Heisman ending did.
- Got a big kick out of all the conspiracy theories that the NFL is helping keep Brett Favre's consecutive game streak alive by moving the Vikings Sunday game to Monday (supposedly because the Giants were stranded in Kansas due to a snow storm). Even funnier when the Metrodome's roof collapsed due to excessive snow...but how awful was that picture from the inside watching the roof collapse? You would think they would figure something out since this is the 3rd time. It ain't exactly Florida, you know.
- Great job from Terry Bradshaw on the passing of Dandy Don Meredith. Got a little tear in my eye when he sang, The Party's Over.
- The announcers doing the Bucs/Redskin game made a little boo boo when they kept insisting the Redskins scored on a 5th down. Turns out the skins got a first down and started again. Apparently, the announcers didn't. Embarrassing!
- And speaking of embarrassing...how about the Jets coach Sal Alosi getting caught on television tripping Dolphin cornerback, Nolan Carroll as he ran along the sidelines? The video clearly shows Alosi sticking out his knee as Carroll ran past him. Carroll fell to the ground and stayed down for quite some time as the TV crew scrambled to show what had happened. Should be interesting to see how the Jets and the NFL handle this situation.
