- In the 20+ years that I have now lived in Florida I am amazed at the changes that have already taken place. You know how you come home after a year and a business has been torn down and you marvel at the change? And then 25 years later your entire hometown is completely changed? Tom drives around this area and is always telling the girls how when he was a teen this road was an orange grove that he and his friends played in. I'm shocked at the change that has occurred around me while I was right here completely oblivious. Change is good though, right?
- How sad has Miley Cyrus become? I understand the need to move on from her Disney image because she is older, but where she has landed is somewhere between a kid playing dress up and child porn. I enjoy some of her songs, but the videos creep me out. I just hope this is a lesson for all those other up and coming Disney stars and that they are paying close attention.
- My latest obsession has been getting to places on time. With two girls that are slow as molasses and a husband who is only on time for work it is driving me crazy. My mother use to describe Tom's lateness as the Boos' time. Now the girls' soccer coach is saying he is going to tell us to be to games a half an hour before the actual time and that way we will be on time. It drives me batty, and then I get angry, and then I get anxious knowing we aren't going to be somewhere on time. I would change our clocks up ten minutes but time is another one of my obsessions and that too would cause me to lose my mind.
- I have watched Survivor from the very beginning. The very beginning! And not once can I remember someone, let alone, two people quitting when it came down to the wire. Last week's episode was so shocking that my mouth hung open for half an hour. I guarantee they had to have security for those two when they made it back to headquarters and confronted the jury...you know, the ones that wanted to play the game and compete for a million dollars, but who got kicked off instead.
- I'm quite happy to see that the NFL has done the right thing and fined the two Raven players for their illegal, yet not penalized, hits on Steelers Ben Roethlisberger and Heath Miller. I think they have opened, as I've stated many times, a huge can of worms. I'd hate to the guy who had to decide each week who to fine. Sitting in a dark room watching video tapes of all the games, deciding who should pay and then deciding how much they should pay? Seems very convoluted to me.
- Why is it that you never have enough boxes when it comes time to send packages or when it is Christmas time? I hate having to buy boxes, and I hate having to ask for them at the grocery store. The clerks always look at you as if you're trying to get something for free, which of course you are, but really they are just going to throw those boxes away. "We recycle them," one clerk told me. "Our policy is not to give them out." Well, honey, what the hell do you think I'm going to be doing with them? Passing a used box on to someone else is recycling no matter what the other person does with the box!!
- And on the Christmas note....why do we exchange gifts with other children when the kids aren't involved in the deciding and purchasing of the gifts? It is just exchanging money between parents. If we are going to exchange I think it should be meaningful, like homemade gifts or something. But then again that seems like too much work to start two weeks before Christmas. It would be like homework for me screaming at my kids to get cracking on the making of the gifts for little Betsy and Bobby. On second thought, never mind.

Things I've pondered the last few days

And, as we both believe, these two should not be allowed to be on the jury. They quit the game, the whole game, and they should be gone.
